“If you can begin to orient your thoughts by steadily looking for things that cause you to feel good, you will begin to develop patterns, thoughts, or beliefs, that will help you create magnificent, good feeling lives.”
– Abraham Hicks

It’s time for my year end ritual again. Play along by choosing the following:

1. A word to embrace.
2. Something to give up.
3. A word to grow into.
4. A quote to aspire to.

For the year 2020:
I embrace FLOW (was ACTION.)
I give up JUDGEMENT (was PLAYING SAFE.)
I grow into MAGNIFICENCE.
I aspire to the lines from a Mary Oliver poem: “I want to think again of dangerous and noble things.
I want to be light and frolicsome.
I want to be improbable beautiful and afraid of nothing,
as though I had wings.”

This is the year I throw caution to the wind. The year I catch up on my projects and life by taking fearless, inspired action every day. This is the year I give up all excuses. The year I ask better questions so I get better answers. The year I embrace being light and frolicsome – afraid of nothing.

Since I’m no longer willing to push the river, to balance my year of action I also embrace inaction. In stillness I do without doing and everything gets done.
Stillness leads to flow.
Flow leads to inspired action.
Inspired action leads back to stillness.

Choosing the word magnificence to grow into this year is a challenge for me because being magnificent was not something that was encouraged in me growing up. Even writing this now I can hear my parent’s voices asking me who I think I am to even consider magnificence is possible – or acceptable. Magnificent means “making great.” This is the year I accept (and expect) that my body, mind and spirit, my living spaces, relationships, creativity and all other parts of my life will be magnificent.

As I get ready to spread my wings I want to share my favorite quote from Hafiz: “Run my dear, from anything that may not strengthen your precious budding wings. Run like hell my dear, from anyone likely to put a sharp knife into the sacred, tender vision of your beautiful heart.”

May you be blessed with love, miracles, joy and vibrant health in 2020. 🙏
