“Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.”
– Helen Keller
The French have a philosophy of life they sum up in the phrase, joie de vivre, meaning a joy of living.
This phrase can be translated as:
A delight at being alive.
Carefree enjoying of living.
Exultation of the spirit.
Lust for life.
Joy of everything.
Looking at your life as something to be taken with great pleasure and enjoyment. .
There’s no literal translation of this phrase into English. But we do have the word joy – which is based on the Latin word gaudere meaning, “rejoice.”
Today let’s speak the language of joy. May you have a good time, have the time of your life, make merry, celebrate, revel, disport, party, love life, have a ball, have a whale of a time, whoop it up, and let your hair down.
