Today we went to the Mercado do Bolhão Market, filled with fishmongers, butchers, farmers selling fruit and veggies, egg and olive stalls and the inevitable souvenir shops. We tried to go on Saturday but the open-air market was so crowded we didn’t stay.
Porto was voted the Best European Destination of 2017, beating cities like Paris, Amsterdam, London and Barcelona. A well deserved recognition, and the city is teeming with tourists.
