My apartment in Porto is a five minute walk to the Douro River and a fifteen minute walk to where the river meets the Atlantic Ocean. Today fog played with the early morning light on the quiet, calm river. At the sea waves crashed against the rocks and insisted on being heard.
So I listened. Both sides happy; the wild free-spirited me speaking my truth to anyone who will listen, and the tranquil let-it-flow me who loves solitude and silence.
Both sides just minutes apart – like the river and the sea.
