This woman came down the sidewalk pulling a wheeled grocery cart. She saw a few of us on the Instagram walk taking photos of the pigeons on the roof of a building. We didn’t realize we were blocking the way into her apartment. She stood patiently waiting.
I followed her to her gate because she kept pointing at the pigeons. She reached into the shopping cart and pulled out a bag of corn kernels and motioned that the pigeons were waiting for her to feed them.
She had the most beautiful smile, a smile that reached her eyes and brightened a cloudy day.
