“Your life is a sacred journey. And it is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path… and from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.”

Yesterday Cradoc and I went to Ojo Caliente to soak in our favorite hot springs. But when we arrived we were drawn to hike the trails behind the hot springs instead. On our way back down we stopped on a rock ledge and renewed our marriage vows for another thirty years. I had thought we might go back to the chapel where we were married with some friends and family and then celebrate over a fancy meal. But this spontaneous ceremony was so us, with the sky and the earth as our only witnesses.
We walked down a dirt road to a labyrinth. So unlike all the detours of my past, the single path of the labyrinth offered only one choice in towards its center, and one path back out. As I entered the labyrinth I walked slowly and held my hands in prayer as I put out specific requests to the universe for the next phase of my life. May my life be blessed with love, joy, kindness, friendship, alignment, creativity, health, vitality, ease, support, fun, freedom, strength, well-being, courage, abundance, flow, soul-connections, miracles, mindfulness, inspiration, and guidance.
I reached the center and stood still connected to my deepest self. I gave thanks and closed the circle of my past. My next circle opened as I took my first step out of the labyrinth, on the path to where I next needed to be.
We left Ojo Caliente and drove along wide open back roads towards Abiquiu, where we ate a picnic lunch surrounded by mysterious white cliffs. In so much silence I heard my heart beat. The simple food better than any fancy meal. Mother Earth better than any chapel. I reached out for Cradoc’s hand grateful for this sacred path we chose to walk together.
