“And I’m leavin’ my family
Leavin’ all my friends
My body’s at home
But my heart’s in the wind
Where the clouds are like headlines
Upon a new front page sky
And shiver me timbers
Cause I’m a-sailin’ away”
– Tom Waits
After twenty-three years in the Pacific Northwest I’ve come to the end of the road. It’s time to try someplace new.
When I was in Porto, Portugal in May the city called to me like a siren song. “Move here,” it said. “This is where you’re meant to be next.”
Today I’m a-flying away -happy to be exploring new roads. Sad to leave the old ones behind. But my life motto has always been that I’m willing to give up all I have for all I can become. And as Helen Keller said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
